2023 Mid Summer Garden Update

We’ve got a busy night of preservation ahead of us, so a fairly quick post for tonight. We’re doing batch number one of our endless summer squash, our snap peas and need to get a ferment going on our Napa cabbage!

But, we wanted to give you all a quick update on our community garden! It is going gangbusters! Now that we’re finally into the heat of summer, our plants are exploding in growth and things are absolutely coming along.

We’ve got several winter squash that are all ready on their way, our cabbages are forming their heads and our waves of short, medium and long season broccoli are keeping us in good supply. We’ve got a few things behind the typical curve, likely due to our relatively cool early season.

So far, things are looking pretty good this year and we’re keeping on top of our harvests as much as possible. It’s a load of work, but we figure we can rest over the long, long winter!
