Our 2024 Season Send Off: Thank You For Following Us!

Jeff & Kayde From Frosty Garden

So, it’s looking like our growing season is at its inevitable end! We are basically calling it here, though we do still have some things we intend to share in coming days, weeks and even months.

In case you’re new around here, we generally try to slow down our posts a lot outside of our primary growing season. We make a major effort to have daily, high quality posts while we have seeds or plants in the soil! It is a ton of work, March through October, I think we only missed two days this year! We use our winter break to focus on developing content for our website, recouping, dealing with our severe winter and preparing for our next season. But, we do pop in here and there, plus we’ve promised some follow up posts this season which will be coming soon! Also, our DM’s are open all winter!

We just want to let you all know how much we’ve appreciated your engagement this season! It’s been great to see both “familiar” and “new” faces, alike! We had a huge amount of growth here on Facebook this year and a big part of that is you all liking, commenting on and sharing our posts. 2024 was our biggest season yet! That means the world to us and your efforts are truly responsible for our growth! So, thank you!

We never imagined that so many people would appreciate what we had to say, much less tolerate our more lengthy posts. All of your efforts have helped us grow, entirely organically, which is very difficult to do in today’s advertising driven world. Frosty Garden operates on a tiny annual budget and advertising dollars are not in the cards for us! So, truly, thank you for everything that you’ve done for us!

Since we’re talking about that budget, it’s that time of year! We only do this once per season, after we’ve put in the countless hours of work! We want you to see the value we try to offer our community, we put an immense amount of effort into creating quality content for all of you each season!

As many of you know, we operate the website FrostyGarden.com. We never really anticipated that our website would grow to become a fixture on the internet. It was not our goal to become a public resource for extreme northern gardening, we started this thing as a hobby back in the days where “blogging” was still popular. Yet, it has been clear to us that there is significant craving for knowledge in subarctic gardening out there and we’ve tried our best to answer that call. Simply put and long story short, we also didn’t anticipate our costs exceeding a “hobby” and becoming a real, fixed monthly cost like it has.

Some day, we may sell something you can buy to help support us. But, for now, our “product” is our knowledge. And it’s completely free, unless you don’t want it to be. Once a year, we directly ask you to help us make Frosty Garden sustainable for us. Profitability is not our goal, but it truly helps us a lot if our most supportive readers help us with our efforts to spread our knowledge.

We’re going to put a link down in the comments below about how you can help us. You can choose to do so on a one-time basis or be one of our few sustaining supporters. (And a SERIOUS shout out to the few of you that have committed to our long haul efforts! We do our best to honor your continual investment in us!) But, even if neither of those options work for you, those likes, shares and even a simple “thank you” help sustain our efforts more than you could know.

As our thank you for your support, we offer free, unbranded stickers of our “chilly veggies & bugs” to ALL of our followers. Whether you support our efforts, or not, the generosity of our supporters allows us to be generous in return. You’ll find out more in our link in the comments, but it’s as simple as a self-addressed stamped envelope! And if you contribute to our efforts, we’re happy to cover postage costs! It’s totally cool with us, though, if you just want some of our rad northern gardening stickers!

As has been typical of the last few years, we wanted to share much more with you than we did. But, we’re exclusively “once a day” posters, aiming for quality over quantity. We hope that you’ve been pleased with the diverse curation of our ideas, thoughts and things that we share about our gardens, knowledge and efforts this season. We’ve also appreciated those topic suggestions, we always prefer to discuss those things that mean the most to you!

Thanks for growing with us during the 2024 growing season! We are all ready looking forward to growing with you all again in 2025 and we’ll be back again full-time in March of 2025! (Our 10 year anniversary!) Nonetheless, we won’t be all that far away! We’re just going to slow down for a little bit!
