Is It Normal? Sometimes Your Plants Look Like A Wreck After Watering!

OK, it’s probably time for us to demonstrate what “normal” can look like after watering your plants the first few times. This scene might alarm the less experienced grower, so let us put you at peace!

If you use a hose end sprayer to water your plants, chances are good your plants might look like a train wreck afterwards. Never fear, your plants will recover from this just fine in a day or two! They’ll be growing straight as an arrow in no time.

Some growers certainly prefer to be a lot more gentle on their plants, possibly lightly watering their young seedlings with a gentle stream. Not us! We save a lot of time by just blasting them! We’re surprisingly “tough” on our plants at times.

If you think about it, plants are built for taking on major rain storms, much more intense than the average hose end sprayer. We’re not talking about hitting them with the jet stream setting, of course, but your plant can tolerate a lot of water being laid down in a hurry.

In fact, we think this process is kind of “good” for your plants. It helps the plant “exercise” its movements, helping it to build stronger stalks and anchoring roots. We’d rather help our plant build a tough exterior under reasonably controlled conditions than allow mother nature to take it entirely by surprise.

In many cases, you can be gentle or you can be tough. We think there’s advantages to some tough love when it comes to growing plants. Remember, mother nature isn’t being careful with your plants, either.
In case you’re having a mini panic attack seeing your plants like this after a good watering, let us talk you off the ledge! You’ll be just fine and your plants will be better for it!
