Well, with the new year, you might notice that we’re investing time into our site, developing several new long form articles! This one’s on advanced container gardening, a topic we’ve wanted to tackle for a long time!
Many of you know that we heavily use container gardening as a core technique across our gardens. The reason we do this is all about soil warmth. It’s easier for the sun to heat up a few cubic feet as opposed to raised beds or the entire earth.
But, growing food in containers is not without its challenges. In fact, we’d argue that growing in containers is often more difficult than more traditional forms of gardening. The challenges are different and there’s more than a few of them!
When you also try to use containers for intensive growing techniques like we do, those challenges keep piling on. It takes a fair bit attention on various core concepts to ensure your soil, nutritional profiles and water supplies are up to the task.
These potential problems are one of the reasons we have a number of articles on container gardening. It’s not as simple as dropping a plant into a container and calling it a season like many beginners think it will be!
We hope you all enjoy another sneak-peek of our new articles for the season, link down in the comments! We’ll likely be dropping these again during the growing season to further explain concepts!
